If you are unwilling to humble yourself, then God will humble you by whatever means necessary. Many believe that God would

not humble them because He is a God of Love. But Love is precisely why He would do whatever it takes to set you free from the bondage of sin. God doesn’t desire to leave us in a state of disobedience. But the choice is ours. Love without choice is not love at all but force, and God will not force you to choose Him.
Once we realize and accept our sin as our own, we can find freedom from whatever our yoke of bondage is. Until we humble ourselves, he can continue to take off the yoke of bondage and recognize our wrongs but it will only be a matter of time until we put it back on again. The real issue is putting on the yoke of Christ. Your yoke controls you. Being yoked to Christ is much better than being yoked to drugs or relationships. Christ’s yoke is light and free.
Humility is a Christian grace provided by God through His Spirit to those who are humble. Therefore, if you are proud, you will not receive humility. Every believer must die to self, develop a walk with Christ, and deepen in their walk with Him. The way to deepen is to “determine not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).
The message of sin and repentance for the believer is nearly void in churches which means that churches are removing the message of the gospel. You must determine not to know anything but Christ and Him crucified. The resurrected life of Christ is what provides the Holy Spirit to those who surrender their lives to Him. He took on your sin in order for you to have the His Spirit in you heart all the time. Yet, it would seem that the Spirit is an entity of the Trinity that is not honored. One of the main reasons that churches stray from the message of Jesus is pride and the need for control. When you walk in the Spirit and follow Christ, you will not be in control. God will. Many are unwilling to surrender and put on the yoke of Christ.
